Cedar Creek dog houses are constructed with Western Red Cedar, which contains natural preservatives. The wood resists insect attack, rot and weathers extremely well. It dissipates water very easily, making it an ideal choice for areas with a lot of sunlight. Cedar Creek dog houses are assembled using yellow chromate screws to give them strength and appeal.
If left in its natural state, the wood will weather to a silvery gray. Weather will
deteriorate any wood that is left untreated. You may want to provide extra protection with the use of a quality sealer, which will delay the graying of the wood. With care, this dog house will provide many years of service.

How to Choose the Right Size Dog House
Measure the length of your dog from the tip of the nose to base of the tail. Using this measurement as a guide, the dog house should have an inside width and depth 25% greater than the length of your dog. Measure the height of your dog from the ground to the top of the head. The height of the dog house should allow the dog to stand without hitting his head on the roof. Depending on the pitch of the roof, this generally means the height of the dog house should be up to 1.5 times the height of the dog. If purchasing a house for a puppy, use the size of the parents or expected size of the puppy when full grown. When in doubt, choose a larger size house.
