It's constructed with Western Red Cedar which contains natural preservatives. The
wood resists insect attack, rot and weathers extremely well. Cedar, a natural resource,
is a great choice for the garden, patio or deck because it is a very porous, soft and
light-weight wood. It dissipates water very easily, making it an ideal choice for areas
with a lot of sunlight.
Cedar that is subjected to high moisture for a long period of time may mold and/or
rot. This cedar product, when shipped to you, has been assembled at Cedar Creek
Illinois using yellow chromate screws to give it strength and appeal. Over a period of
time, due to weather conditions, the screws may become loose, or the holes bored. If
this happens you can replace the screws with larger ones.
If left in their natural state, cedar products and accessories will weather to a
beautiful silver-gray. You
may want to provide extra protection with the use of a quality sealer which will delay
the graying of the wood. It is recommended that you that you do not attempt to drag or
move your product once it has weathered, or has had additional weight added to it. You
should lift from both ends and carry the product to a new location.
