With an appropriate opening size for Wood Ducks or Hooded Mergansers, this house opens two ways for observation and cleaning. A lower side guard protects the nest when the side is open for observation. The house features an internal wire ladder to help the ducklings to climb out – a necessity since Mama Duck calls ducklings to the protection of the open water at age one day.
Purchase includes wood chips as required for nesting material. Wood chips should be renewed each nesting cycle.

The ducks winter near Pacific Coast north to Washington and to New Jersey in East, rarely venturing further north.
